1/01/14 - I am happy to report that the necessary research material for this project has been acquired and I do not foresee any issues moving ahead when the time is right. Being a definite project, only the development and scheduling of production remains to bring this 'Berk' project to life. I have received a number of suggestions in recent months about the idea of expanding this project to include 'Berkshire' variations from other roads, but no decision has been reached in that regard. As the development moves ahead we may consider that possibility if it seems to make sense related to the production process and there is sure to be further comment on this possibility. If you have suggestions or would like to see specific features incorporated in this project, please let me know now so they can be given serious consideration.

9/12/10 - During my recent trip to St. Louis for the National Narrow Gauge Convention, I took the opportunity to visit the Museum of Transportation to view, photograph and document the 'Kanawha' that has been in the museum's collection since the late 50's. Number 2727 is a American Locomotive Company built example that is now located under cover so it is somewhat protected from the elements. While the locomotive does show the wear of time in some areas, overall it is in basically original condition without much removed or altered, at least on the exterior. With the K-4 sitting pilot to pilot with Norfolk & Western Y6a #2156, there is an interesting direct comparison of size.

8/28/10 - Despite being a newly announced project, the K-4s/BAs have been under consideration for production ever since our work on the H-8 and AG locomotives began. The K-4s and BAs will be great companion models for our 'Allegheny' class locomotives which remain as our most popular project to date. With this project under early development, it is a great time to offer your suggestions and ideas as we flesh out the versions to be built.
