'Allegheny' Class Sample Model Three

Kohs H-8
UP

An elevation view of the H-8 tender shows the lower rear deck as compared with the AG tender. Again, all rivets are punched. When rivets are punched it not only gives the correct shape to the rivet head (rounded rather than square edged) but it also gives the sheet metal panels a 'worked' look with some slight contouring like the real thing rather than a perfectly flat sheet of metal. The rivet pattern on the H-8 tenders is different for obvious reasons from the AG tenders, but there were three different patterns used just on the H-8 tenders depending on construction series.
