In this closeup of the sideframe construction you can see the laminated layering of the metal components which is exactly the same construction used for the prototype, the FW-1 has significant weight as a result. The air pipe that runs the length of the carbody ties the brake systems at the two ends of the car together so they can function in tandem, also notice the miniature pipe clamps that are visible.
