Union Pacific 'Challenger' Production Details

The firebox of the early configuration coal fired locomotives are loaded with detail, from the very finely reproduced hollow-core staybolts and the washout plug detailing to the secondary air inlet slide plates. If you look closely, you can see that the lagging over the firebox is actually layered over the actual firebox sheeting and you can see the staybolts visible underneath. The amount of piping speaks for itself and is accurately reproduced based on construction order and road number of the model. You can also see the top of the steam turbine located in it's original location on this version #1 model.
