Union Pacific 'Challenger' Production Models |
A common question with the passenger paint scheme is why the striping was placed as it was, seemingly mismatched between the locomotive and tender. The striping on the tender was located to align with the typical passenger cars that would run behind the tender, while the features of the loco cab would not allow for perfect alignment with the tender. Prior to our Union Pacific locomotive models, included in that are the 4-12-2's previously built, I have never seen the lettering correctly done, passenger or otherwise. |
