Version #8 replicates the Clinchfield E-3 class Challenger prototypes that were originally built for the Rio Grande Railroad leading up to World War II. Following the war, the Rio Grande L-97 locos were returned to the War Allocation Board and were ultimately acquired by the Clinchfield Railroad. |
